Crones Don’t Whine

leave a comment »

Monday morning:

California niece is happily married. Portland nephew’s surprise elopement celebrated with a meal in a dedicated gluten-free restaurant.

I returned home rested and relaxed, happy to have reconnected with my family and especially for the extended quality time with my daughter.

I also spent some time with DD2’s friend who has RA. The first time I’ve talked face to face with another. It was good to compare notes, exchange ideas. She has a wonderful alternative medicine community in Portland and had much to share. I have taken a different alternative route, have tried things she has not. It was a nice exchange and we both came away with new ideas to explore.

I’ve unpacked, waded through the mail and email, done  laundry,  a cursory garden tour and cooked food for today.

Reading a new book – “Crones don’t whine”. Wisdom for today – “Crones don’t whine. What was, was, What is, is.”

Mantra – “That was then. This is now. I am. Peace.”

For the most part, I think I whine quietly, to myself. I’ve never tolerated a whining child, so why would I tolerate a whining child within?

Off for an early morning lymph massage.

health update:

weight Saturday night: 172.9 – smile

Hands healing – two fingers with cracks, one rough and red, the rest healing nicely. One GZ on trip that resulted in blisters, two minor bloats, each resolved overnight. Major bloat starting Saturday night lasting all day Sunday.

Edema is better, balls of feet are almost back to my normal, joints are behaving.

Interestingly, I had muscle aches in both my abdomen and upper trapezius for the last week of the trip, which disappeared when I got home. Strange.
